The Deputy Chair: — Good afternoon, everybody. My name is Nicole Sarauer. I’m Deputy Chair. We have joining us today Hon. Lori Carr, Hon. Jeremy Harrison, Lisa Lambert, Matt Love, Greg Ottenbreit, and Nathaniel Teed substituting in for Vicki Mowat.

 

I’d like to inform the committee that pursuant to rule 139(5) the following estimates were committed to the Standing Committee on House Services on March 28th, 2024: vote 76, the Advocate for Children and Youth; vote 34, Chief Electoral Officer; vote 57, Conflict of Interest Commissioner; vote 55, Information and Privacy Commissioner; vote 21, Legislative Assembly; vote 56, Ombudsman and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner; and vote 28, Provincial Auditor.

We are here today to consider the ’24‑25 estimates for the legislative branch of government. Pursuant to rule 139(6) the Speaker shall not preside during the examination of bills or estimates in this committee. However the Speaker is here for the consideration of estimates for the Legislative Assembly and officers of the Legislative Assembly.
