The Chair:
Good morning, colleagues. Welcome to the Standing Committee on House
Services. Today we will be considering the supplementary estimates no. 1
for the Chief Electoral Officer. I am the Chair of this committee, and today we
have the following members present: Hon. Lori Carr, Hon. Jeremy Harrison, Mr. Hugh Nerlien,
Mr. Trent Wotherspoon, Mr. Jared Clarke, Mr. Greg
Ottenbreit, and Ms. Nicole Sarauer.

like to inform the committee that pursuant to rule 139(5), the following
supplementary estimates no. 1 were committed to the Standing Committee on
House Services on November 27th, 2023: 2023‑24 supplementary estimates
no. 1, vote 34, Chief Electoral Officer. We will begin with the
examination of the supplementary estimates.
As
the Speaker, rule 139(6) states that I shall not preside during the examination
of bills or estimates in this committee. I therefore ask the Deputy Chair, Ms.
Sarauer, to take the Chair for the examination of the Chief Electoral Officers
supplementary estimates.

The Deputy Chair:
Thank you, Mr. Chair. We have the supplementary estimates no. 1 for the
Chief Electoral Officer, vote 34, Chief Electoral Officer. Chief Electoral
Officer, subvote (CE01) in the amount of $1,512,000.
There is no vote as this is statutory.
Committee
members, you have before you a draft of the 14th report of the Standing
Committee on House Services. We require a member to move the following motion:
That the 14th report of the
Standing Committee on House Services be adopted and presented to the Assembly.
