PRAYERS
Petitions of citizens of the province of
Saskatchewan were presented and laid upon the Table by the following members: Meara
Conway, Erika Ritchie, Matt Love, Trent Wotherspoon,
and Betty Nippi-Albright.
Pursuant to the provisions of rule 44, the
Assembly proceeded to the election of a Deputy Speaker.
The Clerk informed the Assembly that only one
candidate had declared his intention to stand as a candidate for election to
the position of Deputy Speaker.
Blaine McLeod, member for the constituency of
Lumsden-Morse

On motion of the Hon. Tim McLeod, by leave of
the Assembly:
Ordered, That Mr. Chris Beaudry, member for the
constituency of Kelvington-Wadena, be appointed to
preside as Deputy Chair of Committees of the Whole Assembly.
The order of the day having been called for
consideration of the speech of His Honour at the opening of the session, Kim Gartner, seconded by the Hon.
Eric Schmalz, moved:
That an Humble Address be presented to His Honour the Lieutenant
Governor as follows:
TO HIS HONOUR THE HONOURABLE RUSS MIRASTY
Lieutenant Governor of
the province of Saskatchewan
MAY IT PLEASE YOUR HONOUR:
We, His Majestys dutiful and loyal subjects,
the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, in session assembled,
humbly thank Your Honour for the gracious speech which Your Honour has been
pleased to address to us at the opening of the present session.
A debate arising, it was moved
by Jared Clarke, seconded by Vicki Mowat:
That the motion be amended by adding:
And, that the Assembly does not
support the agenda outlined in the Speech from the Throne because it fails to include
adequate measures to urgently address the challenges Saskatchewan people face
regarding health care, education, and the cost of living; and further,
That the Assembly has lost
confidence in the government.
The debate continuing on
the motion and the amendment, the Assembly recessed from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m.
The debate being resumed on the motion and the
amendment, it was on motion of Brent Blakley adjourned.
On motion of the Hon. Tim McLeod:
Ordered, That this
Assembly do now adjourn.
The Assembly adjourned at 9:57 p.m. until
Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
