1.     Present: Sean Wilson in the chair and members Bhajan Brar, Hon. Lori Carr, Jared Clarke,* Hon. Tim McLeod, Jordan McPhail,* and Kevin Weedmark.

2.     The Committee Clerk presided over the election of an Acting Chair. Sean Wilson was nominated for the position. There being no further nominations, it was moved by Kevin Weedmark:

That MLA Sean Wilson be elected to preside as Acting Chair of the Standing Committee on House Services for the meeting of May 5, 2025.

The question being put, it was agreed to.

3.     The Acting Chair advised the committee that pursuant to rule 139(5), the following estimates and supplementary estimates no. 2 for the legislative branch of government were committed to the committee on March 27, 2025 and March 19, 2025 respectively:

4.     The Speaker appeared before the committee for consideration of the 2025–26 estimates and 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Legislative Assembly and the officers of the Legislative Assembly.

5.     The committee considered the 2025–26 estimates for the Advocate for Children and Youth.

6.     The committee concluded consideration of the 2025–26 estimates for the Advocate for Children and Youth. On motion of Kevin Weedmark:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2026 the following sum:

For Advocate for Children and Youth — $2,999,000

7.     The committee considered the 2025–26 estimates for the Chief Electoral Officer.

8.     The committee concluded consideration of the 2025–26 estimates for the Chief Electoral Officer.

9.     The committee considered the 2025–26 estimates for the Conflict of Interest Commissioner.

10. The committee concluded consideration of the 2025–26 estimates for the Conflict of Interest Commissioner. On motion of the Hon. Tim McLeod:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2026 the following sum:

For Conflict of Interest Commissioner — $595,000

11. The committee considered the 2025–26 estimates for the Information and Privacy Commissioner.

12. The committee concluded consideration of the 2025–26 estimates for the Information and Privacy Commissioner. On motion of the Hon. Tim McLeod:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2026 the following sum:

For Information and Privacy Commissioner — $2,654,000

13. The committee considered the 2025–26 estimates for the Legislative Assembly.

14. The committee concluded consideration of the 2025–26 estimates for the Legislative Assembly. On motion of Kevin Weedmark:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2026 the following sum:

15. The committee considered the 2025–26 estimates for the Ombudsman and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner.

16. The committee concluded consideration of the 2025–26 estimates for the Ombudsman and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner. On motion of the Hon. Lori Carr:

19. The committee considered the 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Advocate for Children and Youth.

20. The committee concluded consideration of the 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Advocate for Children and Youth. On motion of Kevin Weedmark:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2025 the following sum:

21. The committee considered the 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Conflict of Interest Commissioner.

22. The committee concluded consideration of the 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Conflict of Interest Commissioner. On motion of the Hon. Lori Carr:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2025 the following sum:

23. The committee considered the 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Information and Privacy Commissioner.

24. The committee concluded consideration of the 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Information and Privacy Commissioner. On motion of the Hon. Lori Carr:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2025 the following sum:

For Information and Privacy Commissioner — $140,000

25. The committee considered the 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Legislative Assembly.

26. The committee concluded consideration of the 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Legislative Assembly. On motion of the Hon. Tim McLeod:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2025 the following sum:

27. The committee considered the 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Ombudsman and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner.

28. The committee concluded consideration of the 2024–25 supplementary estimates no. 2 for the Ombudsman and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner. On motion of Kevin Weedmark:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2025 the following sum:

For Ombudsman and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner — $243,000

29. The committee considered its second report. It was moved by the Hon. Lori Carr:

That the second report of the Standing Committee on House Services for the thirtieth legislature be adopted and presented to the Assembly.
