PRAYERS
(Deferral of Rulings)
This morning at 10:04 a.m., I received a letter from the Member for Cumberland (Jordan McPhail) in which he raised a question of privilege in accordance with the provisions of rule 12 of the Rules and Procedures of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. The Government House Leader (Hon. Tim McLeod) has been informed of the details of the case and has provided me with a written response in accordance with rule 12(4).
At 10:25 a.m., I received a letter from the Government House Leader in which he also raised a question of privilege in accordance with rule 12. The Opposition House Leader (Nicole Sarauer) has been informed of the details of the case and has also provided me with a written response.
As there has not been sufficient time to carefully consider all matters related to either of these questions of privilege and to determine whether a prima facie case has been established in either instance, rulings on both cases will be deferred.
Petitions of citizens of the province of Saskatchewan were presented and laid upon the Table by the following members: Bhajan Brar, Kim Breckner, Darcy Warrington, and Sally Housser.
According to order and pursuant to rule 16(7), petitions from residents of the province of Saskatchewan, requesting the following action, were read and received:
To adopt fair and effective rent control legislation that limits annual rent increases.
(Addendum to sessional paper no. 13)
To immediately mandate education on intimate partner violence be included in the orientation process for all new employees across all workplaces in the province.
(Addendum to sessional paper no. 107)
To work directly with seniors and long-term care homes to improve standards of eligibility for people seeking admittance to long-term care.
(Addendum
to sessional paper no. 111)
To immediately move to cover the financial burden of fertility care up to and including two rounds of in vitro fertilization treatments for those Saskatchewan people struggling with infertility.
(Addendum
to sessional paper no. 157)
