Presenting Petitions

Petitions of citizens of the province of Saskatchewan were presented and laid upon the Table by the following members: Aleana Young, Brittney Senger, Darcy Warrington, and Brent Blakley.

Reading and Receiving Petitions

According to order and pursuant to rule 16(7), petitions from residents of the province of Saskatchewan, requesting the following action, were read and received:

To immediately protect tenants and implement rent control.

2026–27 Estimates

The committee considered the following estimates for the executive branch of government and adopted the following resolutions:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2027 the following sums:

For Firearms Secretariat

For Government Relations

For Justice and Attorney General

For Parks, Culture and Sport

2025–26 Supplementary Estimates No. 2

The committee considered the following supplementary estimates no. 2 for the executive branch of government and adopted the following resolutions:

Resolved, that there be granted to His Majesty for the twelve months ending March 31, 2026 the following sums:

Executive Branch of Government

For Community Safety

$43,922,000

For Justice and Attorney General

$9,065,000

For Parks, Culture and Sport

$310,000


The committee recommends that upon concurrence of its report by the Assembly, the sums as reported and approved shall be included in the appropriation bill for consideration by the Legislative Assembly.

On motion of Blaine McLeod:

Ordered, That the third report of the Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice for the thirtieth legislature be now concurred in.

Seventy-five Minute Debate

The order of the day being called for the following motion for a seventy-five minute debate, it was moved by Darcy Warrington:

That the Assembly calls upon the government to take immediate action to provide cost-of-living relief to lower food costs for Saskatchewan people by:

a)   temporarily cutting the fuel tax on gasoline and diesel;

b)   banning unfair AI pricing by retailers;

c)   removing barriers that restrict competition between grocery store operators; and

d)   taking the PST off of food.

A debate arising and the period of seventy-five minutes having expired, pursuant to rule 25(5) the Speaker interrupted proceedings.

Private Members’ Motions

The order of the day being called for motion no. 2, it was moved by Terri Bromm:

That this Assembly supports the Government of Saskatchewan’s recovery-oriented system of care and the Patients First Healthcare Plan to protect our most vulnerable residents.

A debate arising, it was on motion of Brad Crassweller adjourned.

Ordered, That this Assembly do now adjourn.
