Petitions of citizens of the province of Saskatchewan were presented and laid upon the Table by the following members: Brent Blakley, Darcy Warrington, Don McBean, and Vicki Mowat.

Reading and Receiving Petitions

According to order and pursuant to rule 16(7), petitions from residents of the province of Saskatchewan, requesting the following action, were read and received:

To immediately move to cover the financial burden of fertility care up to and including two rounds of in vitro fertilization treatments for those Saskatchewan people struggling with infertility.

(Sessional paper no. 157)

To immediately develop and implement a province-wide crime reduction strategy.

(Sessional paper no. 158)

To immediately provide adequate funding to post-secondary institutions to ensure costs are not passed on to tuition fees.

(Addendum to sessional paper no. 4)

To immediately increase the number of pullouts in the province so that operators can meet safety requirements.

Seventy-five Minute Debate

The order of the day being called for the following motion for a seventy-five minute debate, it was moved by Kevin Weedmark:

That this Assembly commends the government’s comprehensive patient first initiative to improve access to care for all Saskatchewan residents; and further, this Assembly supports expanding access to virtual care, increasing the number of urgent care centres, increasing the scope of practice for providers, and continuing to recruit, train, and increase the number of doctors, nurses, and nurse practitioners in the province.

A debate arising and the period of seventy-five minutes having expired, pursuant to rule 25(5) the Deputy Speaker interrupted proceedings.

Adjourned Debates

The Assembly resumed the adjourned debate on the proposed motion of Jared Clarke: That Bill No. 606 — The Provincial Health Authority (ER Closure right-to-know) Amendment Act be now read a second time.
