Presenting Petitions

Petitions of citizens of the province of Saskatchewan were presented and laid upon the Table by the following members: Bhajan Brar, Darcy Warrington, Tajinder Grewal, Brittney Senger, and Vicki Mowat.

Reading and Receiving Petitions

According to order and pursuant to rule 16(7), petitions from residents of the province of Saskatchewan, requesting the following action, were read and received:

To immediately ensure access to safe drinking water for all Regina residents by providing supports to the City of Regina to replace lead water mains quickly and safely.

(Sessional paper no. 155)

To immediately address the short staffing crisis in health care.

(Addendum to sessional paper no. 5)

To adopt fair and effective rent control legislation that limits annual rent increases.

(Addendum to sessional paper no. 13)

To repeal Bill 137 and ensure that all 2SLGBTQI+ students are supported and protected in accordance with the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code.

Introduction of Bills

The order of the day being called, it was moved by Aleana Young: That Bill No. 612 The Lower Power Bills and Car Insurance Act be now introduced and read the first time.

The Government House Leader raised a point of order that the said bill was out of order, stating that the proposed legislation required a royal recommendation. The Speaker deferred his ruling.
