According to order and pursuant to rule 16(7), petitions from residents of the province of Saskatchewan, requesting the following action, were read and received:

To provide adequate and equitable SAID rates.

(Addendum to sessional paper no. 30)

To work with experts and community leaders on evidence-based solutions to the mental health and addictions crisis in Saskatchewan.

(Addendum to sessional paper no. 91)

To immediately renew the Federal-Provincial Child Care Agreement to save jobs, help families and boost our economy.

(Addendum to sessional paper no. 94)

Written Questions

The order of the day being called for question nos. 53 to 67, pursuant to rule 21(6), the questions were converted and orders for return were issued. (see appendix)

Motion to Adjourn the Sitting

On motion of the Hon. Tim McLeod, by leave of the Assembly:

Ordered, That when this Assembly adjourns at the end of this sitting day, in accordance with the parliamentary calendar, it shall stand adjourned until 10 a.m. on October 22nd, 2025, unless earlier recalled by the Speaker upon the request of the government, and if recalled, the Speaker shall give each member seven clear days’ notice, if possible, of such date and time.

Ordered, That this Assembly do now adjourn.

QUESTIONS ORDERED FOR RETURN

The following written questions were converted and orders for return were issued:

Return no. 50 (Nicole Sarauer):

To the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the total cost of the e-justice project to date.

Return no. 51 (Nicole Sarauer):

To the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the number of Aboriginal court workers currently employed through the ten carrier agencies funded through the Ministry of Justice.

Return no. 52 (Nicole Sarauer):

To the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the percentage increase of staff at Legal Aid.

Return no. 53 (Nicole Sarauer):

To the Minister of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety, (a) the number of inspections done by highway patrol officers in the last calendar year; and (b) the number of inspections done by highway patrol officers since the Highway Patrol came under the umbrella of the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety.

To the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the status of the North Battleford drug treatment court, announced in last year’s budget.

To the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the number of criminal prosecution files in Saskatchewan that were stayed due to the R. v. Jordan decision on delay in the past calendar year.

To the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the status of the J-STAR system upgrade.

To the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the number of students that participated in the College of Law’s experiential learning program that is funded by the Ministry of Justice so far.

To the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, whether the ministry will be facilitating another domestic violence death review panel in this fiscal year.

To the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the number of times that mediation fees have been waived for the mandatory mediation requirement for family law files.

To the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the number of Gladue reports that were ordered in the past calendar year.

Return no. 61 (Nicole Sarauer):

To the Minister of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety, (a) the amount of overtime that was used by correctional services staff in the past fiscal year; (b) the amount of  sick time that was used by correctional services staff in the past fiscal year; and (c) the amount of overtime that was used by staff of the Legislative District Security Unit in the past fiscal year.

Return no. 62 (Nicole Sarauer):

To the Minister of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety, (a) the city that the Chief Marshal’s office is located in; (b) if there is a residency clause within the collective bargaining agreement for the marshals (if so, what does it say); (c) where all of the current marshals are deemed residencies; (d) whether the marshals are allowed to take their designated commercial vehicles home; and (e) the overtime obligations as required in the collective bargaining agreement for the marshals.

Return no. 63 (Nicole Sarauer):

To the Minister of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety, the amount of money that was spent on fire suppression and mitigation by the SPSA this year, and the amount that is budgeted for this fiscal year.

Return no. 64 (Nicole Sarauer):

To the Minister of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety, the number of women that have been housed at the Saskatoon Tribal Council transitional housing facility located in Saskatoon in the past fiscal year, the number of total beds that are available, and the number of women that have completed the program.
