Petitions of citizens of the province of Saskatchewan were presented and laid upon the Table by the following members: Keith Jorgenson, Matt Love, Don McBean, Jordan McPhail, and Noor Burki.

READING AND RECEIVING PETITIONS

According to order and pursuant to rule 16(7), petitions from residents of the province of Saskatchewan, requesting the following action, were read and received:

To provide adequate and equitable SAID rates.

(Addendum to sessional paper no. 30)

To immediately implement a comprehensive affordable housing strategy aimed at helping individuals and families in securing stable and affordable housing.

(Addendum to sessional paper no. 37)

To immediately recruit an appropriate complement of pediatric gastroenterology specialists and adjunct services.

(Addendum to sessional paper no. 39)

To immediately mandate education on intimate partner violence be included in the orientation process for all new employees across all workplaces in the province.

To repeal Bill 137 and ensure that all 2SLGBTQI+ students are supported and protected in accordance with the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code.

SEVENTY-FIVE MINUTE DEBATE

The order of the day being called for the following motion for a seventy-five minute debate, it was moved by Sally Housser:

That the Assembly calls upon the government to urgently review all contracts with American companies and cancel ones that could be fulfilled by Saskatchewan- and Canadian-based providers instead.

A debate arising and the period of seventy-five minutes having expired, pursuant to rule 25(5) the Speaker interrupted proceedings.

PRIVATE MEMBERS’ MOTIONS

The order of the day being called for motion no. 2, it was moved by Chris Beaudry:

That this Assembly supports the efforts of the family of Logan Boulet to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and that the Logan Boulet effect had a significant impact on the rate of organ and tissue donation across the nation of Canada.

A debate arising and the question being put, it was agreed to.
